I was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, grounded in the belief that it truly takes a village. Being both deeply cared for and entrusted with the care of others from an early age shaped who I am and set me on the path toward my life’s work. Community, education, and empowerment are not just values I hold —they are the foundation of everything

My name is Elisabeth Evans, and I am the heart behind With Women Village. My professional background spans early childhood education, youth development, and perinatal care, and I am a CAPPA Trained Postpartum Doula.
I have felt called to birth work since I
was a young teenager, drawn to babies, families, and the sacred transition into parenthood. That calling has guided me for years and continues to deepen with every family I support.

At seventeen, while volunteering as a nursery worker caring for infants ages 0–2, I discovered both the challenges and the profound beauty of nurturing families in their most tender seasons. That experience further ignited my passion for community-centered care, education, and advocacy for parents and babies.

My journey has not
been without hardship. Life experiences—including surviving trauma and navigating profound personal challenges—reshaped my understanding of care, resilience, and advocacy. Through healing, I gained clarity and purpose: to walk alongside others with compassion, respect, and unwavering support.
These experiences strengthened my commitment to ensuring birthing people are heard, protected, and empowered.
I believe deeply that the way we are supported during birth and postpartum matters—not only in the moment, but for years to come. Trauma, when left unaddressed, can begin at birth when parents and babies are not adequately supported or respected. My role is to be a bridge: offering education, presence, validation, and gentle guidance to help families feel connected, confident, and cared for.
The recent global
health crisis further revealed how isolating pregnancy, birth, and postpartum can be. Many parents were forced to navigate these life-altering moments without the support they deserved. This reality reinforced my mission to serve as steady, informed, and compassionate support—now and
into the future.
